ABOUT US

Acham Thavir is an ambitious project run across Tamil Nadu to equip children and adults on personal safety, sexual abuse and ways to rehabilitate victims of abuse. Having begin in January 2020, the awareness program has positively impacted over 36,922 school going children across all ages from primary to higher secondary and nearly 3182 adults on ways to ensure a safe environment for children both at home and outside of it.

It's high time we come in terms with the harsh reality of the society. Child Sexual Abuse has become the norm of the day and the media bombards us with scary stories of abuses all across the country.

We at Acham Thavir strongly believe in finding practical and efficient solutions to the issues at hand and ensure that the right is fiercely protected and the wrong is promptly punished.

Acham Thavir as the name suggests is teaching children to be Fearless and face the world with Conviction. With a well train team of selfless volunteers working tirelessly to safeguard the future of our nation, we work in tandem with the District Child Protection Unit, The Educational Department, The District Administration Department, The Child Welfare Committee and The Police Department leaving no stones unturned. This Revolution against Child Abuse will never stop until every child is safe.

CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS PROGRAM

• ACHAMTHAVIR is guided by a strong advisory board of members.
• Dedicated helpline number to support the Child and their family immediately.
• The affected family is legally supported by a team.
• It will be a long Journey program creating awareness to Children, Parents, Teachers & other parts of society responsible.
• The children are empowered to trust their feelings and express them to safe adults.
• Children are empowered to form a positive body image, clear boundaries and self-confidence
• Children are ensured to say no to bullying and teasing.
• Children are taught the right vocabulary to express and report any form of sexual abuse.
• Children are taught to equip themselves with their body parts, body safety rules and guidelines.
• Children are encouraged to trust in safe adult and in law.
• Cyber safety and peer pressure issues are addressed in middle and high school.
• Awareness is given to adults to help them to create a safe environment for children who are under their care.

As we all are aware children are facing abuses on their daily day to day life in various forms from the society. So as a need of an hour we realized that awareness is to be given to our children and respond in right manner to safeguard them. Hence, we Let's Thank Foundation want to take up the responsibility and joined hands with The District Administration Department, The Educational Department, The District Child Protection Unit, The Child Welfare Committee, The Police Department and the like minded volunteers in giving awareness to the children and adults for the same.
